Everyone from fashion elites, politicians and celebrities can be seen wearing thin ties quite often.

The slim tie is a stylish accessory for all men. Hence, it is important to know how and when to wear one. A skinny tie should ideally be of the width ranging from 1.5-2.5 inches and not more than that. The end of the tie which is pointed should be near to the belt you are wearing. Some time it may extend by 1-2 inches or may be higher than 1-3 inches from the desired length which is quite ok.

Though everyone would love to wear a stylish skinny tie, however ones physique should be taken into consideration before wearing it so that it does not end up spoiling the otherwise great look of the person. Tall and well built or short and heavy built persons should avoid wearing one as it will make them look more bulky. However, it is an ideal choice for those who are thin with moderate to tall height. The knot of the tie is also an important factor and half Windsor knot or four in hand knot can be tied when wearing a slim tie.
Both formal and informal occasion is suitable when it comes to wearing slim ties.  For casual look the thin tie can be worn with a simple shirt and the sleeves can be rolled up and the tie can be tied in a loose manner to give that casual and easy going look. It can also be worn with a contemporary blazer. Not much emphasis is given when it comes to choosing of patterns that can be worn for informal occasion. Just as the checked ones suit quiet well so are the ones in solid colors.

However, care should be exercised when it comes to choosing one for any formal meetings. Mostly solid color slim ties or those having subtle patterns can be worn for formal occasion. The thin ties should be matched properly with the shirt that you are planning to wear. Also it is best worn with a tailored suit and this would end up giving a graceful profile of oneself in front of the team members present in the meetings. Also the knot should not be tied loosely which is in terms with the occasion that is formal.

Keeping the simple points above can go a long way in creating the great look that comes from wearing a slim tie, a must have accessory for those who want to add a touch of style to the dress that they have worn for any occasion.
